Humans make a lot of stuff--which is great! The stuff we make gives us food and entertainment, saves lives, and connects us. But it comes with a cost. When we make that stuff out of plastic, it never goes away.

That's because plastic is durable. So durable that it can't biodegrade; it only breaks into smaller and smaller pieces called microplastics, contaminating our water, air, and soil--and eventually us, too. Which is nasty, since plastics are
full of toxic chemicals.
